As consumers expect more experiences for their travel dollar and demand to hear from more diverse voices, the Caribbean was being overlooked thanks to years of superficial marketing and commoditization.
So, we created a small team driven to undo the damage from an authentically West Indian point of view. (And have a ton of fun along the way.)
The result is Uncommon Caribbean—a media outlet, curation platform, influencer network, and stock photography provider mission-built to shatter the one-size-fits-all Caribbean tourism narrative. We've been successful achieving this feat by celebrating the culturally enriching and adventurous experiential travel opportunities found in every corner of the Caribbean.
All with Afro-Caribbean faces in the spotlight.
We start by producing content that captures the authentic soul of the West Indies through original photography, writing, and video. Then we collaborate with governmental organizations across the region like Antigua, The British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Martinique, St. Martin, and the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as brands like Sunsail, Helly Hansen, Yeti, and AFAR Magazine to inspire travel to the region. What began as a passion project became so much more.
